The Man Behind The Fire (Trailer)

Personal Film Trailer

3 Teens are hanging around in a house. Someone sets it on fire, but we never see who they are. There’s no face, no name, and no clear reason. What matters instead, is the buildup — the quiet moments before the fire, the sense that something is about to happen.

The trailer is meant to feel unresolved. It doesn’t explain the act or judge it. It simply presents it and lets the viewer decide what it means.

PROJECT WITH DESCRIPTION EXAMPLE

I developed this project by going through the full production process, starting from early planning and ending with the final visual assets.

The project began in pre-production, where I focused on planning everything before picking up a camera. I carried out location scouting, created a storyboard to map out the shots, and built a Gantt chart to manage time and deadlines. I also put together a mood board to define the look and tone of the trailer, along with a risk assessment to make sure the shoot could be done safely.

Once the planning was in place, I gathered the crew and secured the equipment needed for filming, including the camera and a gimbal to achieve smooth movement. We then filmed according to the script, paying close attention to atmosphere and visual consistency throughout the shoot.

After filming, I moved into post-production. I edited the footage in Premiere Pro, where I shaped the pacing and overall flow of the trailer. From there, I brought the edit into After Effects to add visual effects and refine certain moments. Finally, I bounced the video in Davinci Resolve to add colour which brought it to life.

When the video was finished, I created a poster to go alongside the trailer. This helped bring the project together as a complete piece.
